Kathleen Nugent is the Office Manager at Opus Consulting. She oversees the firm’s bookkeeping client portfolio and provides operational and administrative support for the entire team. In this role, she manages client accounting records, ensures timely and accurate financial reporting, and delivers the foundational data that supports Opus’s advisory, restructuring, and turnaround engagements. As a result, clients and colleagues have the insights they need to make informed financial decisions and implement effective strategies.
Her expertise spans bookkeeping, payroll administration, benefits selection, and compliance with state and federal employment regulations. In addition, she works closely with business owners to streamline financial processes, optimize payroll systems, and implement benefits programs that balance cost efficiency with employee satisfaction. Through careful attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy, Kathleen provides clients with clear, actionable information that drives operational improvements and supports strategic decision-making.

Before joining Opus, Kathleen gained a diverse professional background in product research consulting, real estate development, education, and financial services. This breadth of experience gives her a unique perspective on the operational and financial needs of growing organizations. Consequently, she is able to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and implement practical solutions that align with client goals.
Kathleen holds a B.A. in Sociology from Bates College. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing, bowling, golf, and running along the Maine coast. Notably, she participates in a competitive bowling league and recently became a board member for the Southern Maine USBC (United States Bowling Congress). This board is responsible for setting standards, rules, and regulations for leagues and tournaments throughout Southern Maine. It also supports programs and initiatives including the youth program, high school and collegiate bowling, and coaching and training programs.Â
