Senior Consultant

James Kepler is a Senior Consultant at Opus Consulting specializing in Fractional CFO Services, bringing deep expertise in financial leadership, strategic advisory, and operational finance. He partners closely with ownership teams and senior executives to improve financial visibility, strengthen decision-making, and drive sustainable, long-term performance. In his role, James oversees critical accounting functions, designs and implements internal controls, and identifies opportunities to improve client profitability and cash flow.

Prior to Opus, James held senior finance roles at a multinational construction products manufacturer, where he led enterprise-wide planning and forecasting across 42 locations. He developed integrated P&L and cash flow models, supported more than $20 million in capital investments, and regularly advised executive leadership on pricing strategy, operational improvements, and restructuring initiatives. His work included supporting complex decisions such as plant closures and portfolio optimization.

Earlier in his career, James served in FP&A and accounting roles, managing end-to-end finance and accounting operations for multiple organizations. He partnered closely with operations teams to implement KPI-driven reporting, improve financial systems, enhance inventory and pricing processes, and strengthen internal controls—resulting in measurable improvements in profitability and operational efficiency.

James holds a Master of Science in Data Analytics from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine.

Outside of work, James lives with his wife and enjoys hiking with his hounds and following whichever sports are in season.
