Consultant Guelord Balekelayi works with a diverse set of clients across a range of industries; Healthcare, Auto Body Repair, Dairy Farms, Fitness Centers, Restaurants, Cannabis Retailers, and Non-Profits. 

He primarily supports Opus clients with core accounting & financial reporting tasks, including payroll, payment processing, expense reporting, loan reconciliation and performs variance & trend analyses. He assists with budgeting and forecasting, supports intercompany accounting requirements,processes end-of-month and annual closing activities and prepares critical financial reports.

In addition, Guelord provides support for key Compliance and Audit tasks including GAAP & Regulatory assessments, tax compliance and documenting Standard Operating Procedures. He has deep experience across a range of accounting software tools, including Epicor, Zoho, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics GP, MRI, and Avid.

Before joining Opus, he served as an Accountant where he was responsible for overseeing financial operations related to medical, diagnostic, industrial, commercial property, and defense markets. He also contributed to financial management for a nonprofit organization dedicated to community support and outreach. In addition to his accounting roles, he also worked as a Financial Recovery Specialist where he managed Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims.

Guelord earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing major from the University of Southern Maine (USM). Guelord also volunteered as a member of the executive committee of the Congolese Community Of Maine (COCOMAINE) from 2013 through 2015.The Congolese community of Maine mission is to facilitate integration, development, and entrepreneurship for a thriving community. 

He is passionate about sports, particularly basketball, soccer, and football. He also plays drums and keyboard.
