SOPOSUP and Santa SUP on Saturday, December 18

Dec 15, 2010

I just wanted to give a shout out to my dear friend, Raf Adams, who is launching a stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) business called SOPOSUP that will have a retail location at 382 Cottage Road in South Portland.  The official store grand opening is April 1 although the website ( is live and open for business.  Until the grand opening, Raf is offering free lessons and demos  for those willing to brave pre-April conditions.  He also is offering a 15% discount on boards and paddles purchased before January 1.

My wife and I both love to SUP.  Raf beautifully describes his discovery of the joy of SUP here.

To celebrate the holiday season, Raf (and perhaps some other brave souls) will SUP it up as Santa this Saturday, December 18 with a 10:30am launching of the Santa(s) at Bug Light in South Portland.  Santa(s) will then paddle up to the Casco Bay Bridge and back to spread some holiday cheer.  We’re hoping for some TV coverage and welcome SUPing Santas (who have the proper winter surf suits, PFD, gloves, booties, skills and Santa suit) and spectators alike (I plan to spectate myself).

Let’s talk about
your business.

We thrive in ambiguous and uncertain environments.
