April TMA event reflection

May 6, 2013

We had an outstanding attendance at last week’s Maine chapter TMA event, featuring Paul Lepage. Mr. Lepage shared his thoughts on the current state of Maine and what he believed to be important factors in bringing more business to our state. We at Opus Consulting Group make it a part of our mission to help businesses succeed during periods of uncertainty and are always looking for ways to make Maine ‘the’ place to do business.  The discussion around Maine’s future and needed change served as a focal point for the governors presentation. Two primary areas that Maine needs to improve on are its energy competitiveness, and it’s overall ease of doing business. Guest comments and suggestions ranged from bringing an east/west highway connecting Maine’s interior with Canada and what the governor proposes to do about our costly school system. The Governor ended the event prompting Mainer’s to call their legislature in order to voice their opinion and induce change.

The event was highly informative and we met a variety of new people. We would like to thank all who joined and look forward to seeing everyone at the next event.  Please, join us on June 6th,  2013 for the Spring Cocktail Reception at DiMillo’s. We hope to see you there and bring a guest. The TMA Maine chapter is an excellent meeting ground for turnaround professionals to discuss the latest industry trends and build their network.
