President
As the President of Opus Consulting, Jacques brings years of leadership experience in the entertainment, tourism, financial services and technology industries. His expertise lies within business strategy and management, new business ventures, due diligence, accounting, process improvement, financial systems, planning and analysis, and sales and marketing strategy.
Prior to founding Opus Consulting, Jacques began his career at Ernst & Young and Universal Pictures in Paris, France. Since moving to the US in 1999, Jacques has held several executive positions and engaged in an array of consulting assignments. In his free time, Jacques enjoys riding his motorcycle, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Jacques holds a degree from EDHEC School of Management in Lille, France with a concentration in Finance.
Connor Yost
Partner
As an Opus Consulting partner, Connor has been instrumental in establishing the firm’s emerging markets division.
Connor’s expertise is in creating financial projections and business plans for specialized manufacturing nationwide. Connor is a lead consultant on process revisions, regulatory compliance, and technical application writing. Additionally, he guides clients through municipal rules, regulations, and processes to better advance their projects.
Prior to joining Opus, Connor spent time in both the consumer lending and mortgage industries. When he is not in the office, Connor enjoys the outdoors, including snowboarding and golfing.
Connor holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus in accounting from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire.
Casey Skovran
Senior Consultant
As the lead financial controller for Opus, Casey onboards new accounting clients and oversees various accounting processes ensuring compliance with internal controls and procedures. Additionally, Casey handles ad hoc accounting requests for clients, such as forensic accounting issues, budgeting and planning, and variance analysis. Casey is also adept at loan assistance having helped clients obtain multimillion-dollar financing for their projects.
Casey has broad business and accounting expertise from his 13 years in various positions with a large multi-national IT corporation, including six years as a project controller. In his free time, Casey can be found on the baseball diamond, umpiring local college and high school teams, or enjoying the great Maine outdoors.
He earned his MBA from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND where he also graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics.
Alice Evans
Senior Consultant
Alice’s experience is in management, operations, and strategy. At Opus, Alice supports clients in developing and implementing strategic plans to improve internal operations and overall performance. With years of experience managing people and overseeing operations, sales and service teams, Alice offers a solutions-focused perspective to partnering with clients in these key areas of business.
Prior to joining Opus, Alice worked for a large international nonprofit organization, where she developed programs and launch strategies in expanding markets, and managed domestic program sales, operations, and support.
Alice has earned professional certificates in management, sales management and training, and fundraising and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology and Society from Colby College. Alice currently sits on the board of two Portland- based organizations and in her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
Nick Des Lauriers
Senior Consultant
Nick has over 8 years of experience in various industries for companies providing a range of professional services. During his career, he has gained hands-on experience with a wide variety of issues common to any start-up and businesses, particularly around business plan preparation, financial modeling, investor deck presentation, operational strategy formulation and execution, sales/marketing, human resources and more.
He has specialized expertise in working with start-ups to take companies from an idea to operation to realizing profits. A graduate of Bryant University, he has worked at ProVerde Laboratories, one of the leading testing facilities in New England and has assisted numerous businesses with their business and operational challenges.
Jasmine Proctor
Consultant
Jasmine supports businesses through start-up and growth with a focus in project management, financial modeling, and business plan writing. Additionally, Jasmine specializes in assisting clients with cannabis regulatory compliance from guiding them through the complex licensing process to developing legal and operational policies and procedures.
Prior to joining Opus, Jasmine worked in commercial lending and banking. Jasmine is an alumna of the Maine Business School and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Maine, where she obtained a B.S. in Business Administration with a double major in Management and Communication.
Garrett Krisko
Analyst
Garrett works with clients in industry research, project management, technical writing, and financial modeling. He also specializes in operational performance and growth & innovation techniques.
Before joining Opus, Garrett worked in operations and helped build online merchandise shops for private golf courses in the US. In his free time, Garrett enjoys playing golf, watching the Bruins, and adding to his growing history book collection.
Garrett earned a B.A. in History and Political Science and played collegiate golf at the University of New England. He also holds an MBA with a specialization in Growth & Innovation from the University of New Hampshire’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.
Kathleen Nugent
Office Manager
Kathleen supports the team at Opus Consulting with operational and administrative matters. She is responsible for monitoring client accounting records, compiling financial reports, and conducting market research and analysis.
Prior to joining Opus, Kathleen worked in product research consulting, real estate development, education, and financial services. In her free time, Kathleen enjoys skiing, bowling, golf and running along the Maine coast.
Kathleen holds a B.A. in Sociology from Bates College.
Lou Zambello, MBA
Advisor
Lou has over three decades of experience in successfully growing a range of businesses; from start-ups to billion-dollar enterprises. His expertise includes executive management and senior level experience in corporate restructuring, strategic planning, marketing, product development, multichannel media strategies, and process re-engineering.
Before joining Opus, Lou’s executive experience included: Senior Vice President of Operations and Creative for L.L. Bean, Senior Vice President of Operations for EToys, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Johnny’s Selected Seeds. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for Cuddledown, Johnny’s Selected Seeds, and Lehmans. In his spare time, Lou is an accomplished fly-fishing guide, established speaker, author and columnist.
Lou earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Economics from Cornell University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
