Opus was launched in 2009 with a team of professionals who wanted to contribute to the economic fabric of Maine. President and Founder Jacques Santucci has an extensive background in executive management. Since making Maine his home in 1999, Jacques has leveraged his understanding of strategic and financial principles by creating new businesses and managing the strategic turnaround of others. His passion for helping businesses realize their full potential was the catalyst to build Opus.
Today, Opus is an established team of dedicated management consultants with an extensive network. What sets the firm apart from other consulting practices is its cross-functional approach to performance management: guiding companies to transform, innovate and accelerate, working at the intersection of finance, operations and strategy. Since its beginning, Opus has followed these principles to support over 120 New England companies, and has consulted with clients from Hawaii to Switzerland.
Jacques has held leadership positions in the entertainment, tourism, financial services and technology industries. Prior to founding Opus Consulting Group, he began his career as an auditor for Ernst & Young and Universal Pictures in Paris, France. Since moving to Maine in 1999, Jacques has held several executive positions and engaged in an array of consulting assignments. Over the past few years, he has been instrumental in bringing alive a number business startups and engineering corporate turnarounds.
His expertise lies within business strategy and management, new business venture, due diligence, accounting, process improvement, financial systems, planning and analysis, sales and marketing strategy.
Jacques holds a degree from EDHEC School of Management in Lille, France with a concentration in Finance.
Andrew specializes in providing clients with strategic and operational support during the start-up and growth phases of a business. He supports new businesses with financial modeling, business plan writing and ongoing project management to support a succesful launch and poise companies for long term growth. In addition, he assists clients as interim controller to improve core business practices and develop strategic actions plans for future growth. Prior to joining Opus, Andrew worked for a multinational corporation selling financial products and services. Andrew is a fluent native speaker of the German language and has experience in German/English translation. He earned a double major in Economics and German with additional studies in international management from Missouri State University and a dual MBA/MSF degree from Northeastern University.
Lou has over three decades of experience in successfully growing and transforming a range of businesses; from start-ups to billion-dollar enterprises, either as an operating executive, a board member, or a consultant. His expertise includes executive management and senior level experience in corporate restructuring, strategic planning, marketing, product development, multichannel media strategies, creative, operations, and process re-engineering. Lou is also a professional fly-fishing guide, established author and columnist. He earned a double major in Psychology and Economics from Cornell University, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Connor specializes in financial modeling and analysis, technical writing and project management. He also assists clients with general accounting practices. Prior to joining Opus, he spent time in both the consumer lending and mortgage industries. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a focus in accounting from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire.
Casey Skovran has broad business and accounting expertise from his 13 years in various positions with a large multi-national IT corporation, including six years as a project controller. He earned his MBA from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND in 2006, where he also graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics in 2003. Casey’s expertise is in financial management and control, ensuring compliance with internal controls and procedures. Casey handles onboarding new accounting clients and overseeing accounting processes that Opus manages for clients. Additionally, Casey will handle ad hoc accounting requests for clients such as forensic accounting issues, budgeting and planning, and not for profit fiscal sponsorship financial management.
Sarah is a Junior Consultant with a background in retail banking and customer service management. She serves as Office Manager and aids clients with accounting and administrative support to improve business practices and financial clarity. Sarah is an expert in QuickBooks, ADP Payroll processing and many other Point of Sale Software commonly used by small businesses. Sarah holds two bachelors in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Southern Maine. Sarah volunteers for the American Associations for Retired Persons (AARP) as a financial literacy counselor and in her spare time enjoys traveling, walking her three dogs and learning sign language.
Caitlin is a Junior Consultant at Opus specializing in accounting and administrative based tasks for clients. She works closely with businesses to improve cash flow and budget management practices. Previously, she oversaw the implementation of new accounting systems and processes at a large manufacturing company and provided financial forecasting for effective resource management in the finance department. Caitlin graduated from Bentley University in Massachusetts with a B.S. in Accounting and a Minor in Environmental Sustainability, and is currently working towards her CPA. A native New Englander, Caitlin enjoys boating and walking her dog in her spare time.
Brian has held strategic planning, business development, relationship management and product development positions with a variety of New England companies from pre-revenue start-ups to established small businesses to Fortune 500 multinational corporations. He also previously practiced law, first with the law firm Goodwin Procter in Boston and then as in-house counsel with Citigroup in Portland. Brian is a graduate of Williams College and the Boston University School of Law.
